RampCast Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 18, 2026
1. Scope
This policy explains how RampCast.app and the RampCast mobile apps handle data. RampCast is built for launch status, weather context, and public advisory visibility for boating and fishing use cases.
2. Data We Process
- App/account support data: bug reports and feature requests submitted by email.
- Operational telemetry: service reliability logs (request timing, error diagnostics, and abuse-prevention signals).
- Approximate technical metadata: IP-derived operational context for security/rate limiting.
3. Data We Do Not Sell
RampCast does not sell personal information.
4. Location and Sensitive Data
- RampCast can use on-device location for nearest launch/station experience when permission is granted.
- Device coordinates are not sold and are not used for advertising profiling.
- Public data providers (NOAA/NWS/USGS/NPS and similar) are used for launch/weather/advisory information.
5. Children
RampCast is not directed to children under 13. If we discover personal data was submitted by a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will delete it.
6. Retention
We retain operational logs only as long as needed for security, reliability, and legal obligations. Support emails are retained for issue tracking and support history.
7. Security
We use industry-standard controls (HTTPS, edge security controls, least-privilege credentials, and abuse protections). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
8. Your Choices
- You can control device permissions (including location) through your OS settings.
- You can contact us to request deletion of support emails tied to your request history where legally permitted.
9. Contact
For privacy requests, contact privacy@rampcast.app.
10. Policy Updates
We may update this policy over time. Material updates will be reflected by the effective date above.
